The transformation of Fritz' Automotive Repair Shop into our home and design studio has been a labor of love.
Amongst the many challenges was figuring out how to carve a warm and welcoming space out of a concrete block building with soaring ceilings. The building is endowed with windows along one side only, which created an additional challenge of maintaining natural light throughout the rooms.
The solution was to design walls that don't meet the ceiling, thereby pulling in light from three large added skylights.
The tones and textures of the many custom finishes and furnishings create a rich backdrop for our collection of art and photography, and complement the private oasis of greenery in our courtyard, which feels a world away from this industrial zone of the city.
